Here's another funny video/skit from my old youth group days at newcov.....
It's a little slow at first, but stick with it to the end. It's pretty funny. It took forever to get all that Peanut butter off my body! And we were cleaning it up for weeks backstage in the old sanctuary. Darn youth pastors!

Last day at NewCov
Sunday, July 6th was my last day at New Covenant as the Creative and Technical Arts director. I had been serving in ministry at NCCC for over 12 years. I started out as a Youth Intern, then a became a Youth Pastor, and then later on I followed God's plan for my life and started doing Creative Arts. I had a three year break from "Full-Time ministry" while I worked at Live Light Inc. This is the place where I learned everything I know about entertainment and production.
It was a very sad day for me and my family as we said Goodbye to a great church that has been a major part of our lives. I made it though two services without tearing up to much. Even with a couple of shout-outs in the service from Pastor Jän and Pastor Pat. But after second service, Pat's wife gave me a big hug and then the tears started flowing. Then @cowtippinjosh showed me and the production team a video he put together. I then started to go into boo-whoo-whoo crying.
I will miss all my friends, volunteer and co-workers at New Covenant very much. I thank them for all their love and support thought out the years. I wish them all the best of Luck and I will continue to pray for them and their ministry at NewCov in FRESNO!
GOODBYE TO RANDY

mens softball league. wk5
Got back into it after a week off.
This game was pretty boring. Not much going on. Very low scoring for softball. One of the highlights for me was hearing my son, McKay, yelling "Look...That's my daddy!" "Go Daddy!"
We also went to yogurt afterwards with our new friends, Chris & Katie Miller. Their son, Jeremiah, is two and half. McKay and him are pretty good buddies.
WEEK FIVE. Game at 600pm.
NewCovenant (4w-1L) beats Campus Bible by the score of 5-1.
OFFENSE:
We didn't really get to much going tonight. Scored just enough to win.
It was pretty windy.
I went 2-3. Had a lazy ground out to third. Two base hits into left field.
No RBI's.
Got thrown out at third with no outs in the fifth with only a three run lead. Dumb! Need to pay better attention to the base coaches. Thought I heard him say, "Come on!" The guys said that was the other team. Had a ugly slide into the bag too.
DEFENSE:
I just got ate up at third tonight. Two costly errors. They scored a run on me. Jamin got me out of a few jams with double play balls.
Did have two put outs. One was a caught line drive (hand still kind-of stings) and the other was a grounder with a throw to first.

mens softball league. wk4
Not much to talk about on this one. We didn't play well at all. I was very tired before the game even started. I just could not get up for this game tonight. No energy in me. A few of the guys came really late. They didn't have a chance to warm up at all. I don't think the heat was a factor, but it was pretty warm. The misters were even on in the dugout.
Riverpark is a good team. They find a way to get on base. They also play good D. The pitchers pitches are sweet and fat. They look so good. You just want to hit it so hard. I was swinging way to hard at the pitch. For some reason we stuggled tonight with hitting. Can't wait for the rematch later on in the season. We need to settle the score at 1-1. Plus the playoffs are right around the corner. That's what counts!
WEEK FOUR. Game at 810pm.
NewCovenant (3-1) Loses to RiverPark 6-1.
OFFENSE:
We just couldn't get anything going offensively. Didn't score the run until the fourth inning. They played good Defense, but all in all we just couldn't hit any gaps or holes.
I went 0-3. Lazy ground out to third. Fielders choice at second. Fly out to deep Left center.
NO RBI's.
DEFENSE:
You can't do much on Defense if they keep on hitting the ball into the holes all over the field. I would shift left over more into the hole and then they would hit it down the line. They are good hitters.
Had a ton of Balls hit over my head at third. A few were hit to my left, out of my reach, in the hole. I only got my glove on one ball tonight. It was hit to my right. I just closed my glove before the ball even got to me. It was a back handed grab. The ball went off the tip of the glove. It was an Error! I know.

slicing watermelons.
If you ever need to slice a watermelon and don't have a knife around... use a T-Square!
Yesterday, Pat and I made another "funny" bumper video for the Leadership Toolbox sermon series at newcov. Make sure to check out the newcovproduction blog soon to see the videos.

smashin' stuff.
Last Sunday at newcov we showed a video, that Pat and I made for the "Leadership Toolbox" series. It was a lot of to make. In this "funny" bumper video I took a sledge hammer to a watermelon and a Two Liter bottle full of coke. Yeah! It was Sweet! You can check it out at the newcovproduction blog.
All this excitement and fun reminded me of all the good times I had making funny videos for the youth groups at newcov. And one of them comes to mind for sure. It has a lot of smashing stuff in it. I made it with Marshall Pulliam back in the day. We actually watched it today together. We had all this stuff to throw away, so we decide to just throw it off the roof first. This started our "STUPID VIDEO" series. Check it out.

I started playing on the NewCov Men's Softball Team again this season. It was nice to be back on the team again. I haven't played in years. I had played every year for a long time. I've also played in the co-ed leagues too. My wife played a few seasons as well with me. Church league softball can be a lot of fun. And it can be a great time of fellowship and outreach with others in the church and the community. But sometimes it can get a little to competitive. And that's what I love about it! Play to Win!
The men's league plays on Monday nights now at Bethany Church. We have a really good team this year. Our defense is pretty solid. And our sticks are good. Plenty of speed as well. (No speed from me. I just move my arms and legs really fast.) We should do well. I think we can win it this year. Make sure to come back here every Monday night for the duration of the season to see how we did. Or better yet, come to see how I did! (I know... There's no I in TEAM. But there is a ME.) I hope to have some pictures and maybe even some video too in weeks to come! So here's week one.
WEEK ONE. Game at 7:05pm.
NewCov Crushed Trinity Church 15-0
They were short on guys. Only played 7 guys in the field.
Bob pitched a great game. Got a three hitter to his name. Runners only reached two base once.
Our defense played great.
Scott Borman had a "SportCenter TopTen" diving catch out in Right Field.
I played third base the whole game. Had one put out. No errors!
Hitting was a little slow at first. But we got it going in time.
At the plate, I went 1-4. In-field single to third. Fly-out to Left. Line Drive out to Short. Foul-Tip K.
I scored one run.

sneak peak.
This afternoon, Pat talked me into making a "funny" bumper video with him for the new sermon series at newcov named Leadership Toolbox. It starts tomorrow morning. The video will be on the newcovproduction blog soon. He's editing the video as I type this blog post right now! Yeah!
Here's a picture of the video shoot! What did we do? Anyone have a guess? Anyone?

friday night debate.
It was like old times for me last Friday night. New Covenant hosted a debate at Fresno State and I was in charge of all the "tech" side of things. I rented pretty much all the gear from Live Light. It was nice to be back in my old gig element for a short while. I even wore my old Live Light shirt for effect. I wish, my buddy, Mark, from LL, could have helped out. I sure could have used his help. I was running around all over the place.
The load-in started at noon. We had to first put down a trap on the gym floor. Then the stage got into place. Follow by lighting, sound and video. He had a few issues here and there. But overall the load-in went pretty smoothly. We were ready for show in plenty of time. We brought in our own church video equipment to film a two camera shoot of the event. It really need a four camera shoot. But I was pleased with the outcome of the video anyways.
The event was a huge great success. Tons of people showed up. (1400 total inside!) And there was plenty of people outside listening as well. (250!) We plan on doing this event yearly. Looking forward to next year all ready. Look for the Full length video online soon at the debate website.

my pizza.
I like getting my own personal pizza when we go to the pizza parlor. If we get one large pizza for the family, we're all good with getting pepperoni and olive. But if I have the chance to get my own, I get my own. Here's why!
My favorite personal pizza. Toppings: extra sauce, extra cheese, linguica, pepperoni, artichokes, olive, and pineapple. Don't forget Parmesan Cheese, Ranch dip, Jalapeños, and Anchovies on the side! YUMMY!
What do you like on your Pizza? Let me know!

my shout out.
Two Sundays ago I got a Shout Out from the Pastor in the service! He wanted me to show one of my NewCov Production videos I made to the church on that Sunday. It was the Hawk Nelson 12hour Fast Forward into a short 1min video. After showing the video, he said something that makes me laugh every time I hear it.
"That was Randy Parker, our TECH GUY, he did all that!"

Hawk Nelson and Run Kid Run - The Green T Tour.
March 11th - LIVE at NewCov.
Today was another very long day for me and New Covenant. I was the "House Guy" again for these concert gigs. I just tied in some feeder power tails and helped out anyway I could. The tour is all self-contained. No running sound or lights this time for the NewCov Production Team. The crew for this tour was great and very prepared. The load-in and load-out went really smoothly. Plus, all the guys and gals, from the managers, to the back line crew, to the band members, they all were very cool and calm. I had some good conversations with many of them. I also got to eat dinner with the band Run Kid Run this evening. They are a bunch of great guys. It was more fun than work for me today. I was truly blessed.
You can check out newcovproduction for more pics and videos.

new set design.
This is the current set design I just finished for NewCov Sunday Mornings. This set is themed for our new sermon series called "RESCUE". I spent nearly 80+ hours building this set. Pat worked just about the same amount putting together all the music for the services. All of our hard work sure did pay off. The kick off to the series last Sunday was amazing. It was a great morning. People really responded to the idea and the theme for the series.
It's only two weeks to go before Easter Sunday. We'll be hitting it hard again from now until then for the next sermon series called "Amazing Grace". Oh yeah... Another set design to make too! YEAH BABY!!!
Make sure to check out my NewCovProduction blog for more pictures and a video from Week one of RESCUE. It's all LIVE at NEWCOV.

great idea.
Sorry - I haven't posted a new blog post in a while now. I've been busy working late hours at NewCov. Pat and I both have been getting everything all dialed in for the upcoming sermon series called "RESCUE". I believe we are really taking it up a notch here. This was a great idea we had. I hope it all comes together. More on the Sermon Series and the set design later on at the newcovproduction blog.
So...This great idea reminded me of another great idea I had back in the day while I was running the 5th and 6th grade youth group called S.U.R.F.(Serving Under a Radical Father). Well.. it was video promo piece for a event! Check it out this video.

newcov production.
Patrick and I haven't slowed down over here at NewCov since I got here back in November. Lots of great things taking place on Sunday Mornings. We've had good sermon series back to back. Great stage and set designs. And some sweet God moments in the services.
I posted a few new post on the newcovproduction blog last night.
Check them out it HERE and see for your self!

The Datrix.
I'm sure everyone has seen or heard of the great Matrix movies?!?!?! I haven't seen them all at least 3-4 times each. The Matrix movie was off the charts good back in 1999. So we jumped all over it and made "The Datrix."
Garrett Kirby had some great ideas in the filming process and Patrick, Jarrod and Jason were great as usual. I had a great group of guys that came every week to help out and serve in anyway for the Youth groups at newcov. We all just really enjoyed making videos. So that's what we did every Monday,Tuesday, and sometimes Wednesdays, for like 2-3 years. All that dedication and hard work really payed off in the growth of all the youth groups at newcov back in that time. The Datrix probably had been shown the most out of any other video we made next to OuttaSync - you make me hurl.
"The Datrix" spoof was made during a dating sermon series at newcov high school group back in year 2000. This funny video came out pretty good. By far the best video effect was seeing me jump 20 feet in the air on to a roof top! Check it out!

Patrick Nolen.........as agent number one
Jarrod Reeeves......as agent number two

outtasync.
He's another one of my youth ministry videos from year 2000 at newcov.
We were in a dating sermon series for the high school group and decided this song would be good to have some fun with it. After finishing the music video, we realized that it turned out pretty good and we should have spent more time on it. It would have been better if we used a better wardrobe, filmed more in different locations, and having a girl really play the girl part. But It still gets plenty of laughs.
OuttaSync - you make me hurl.
Starring:
randy parker................ as the dude
hal................................. as the chick
garrett kirby................. as the vomit dude
jarrod reeves................. as one of the outtasync dudes
jason................................ as one of the outtasync dudes
