California Love!

YES! It’s True!

The Parker’s are moving back to California!

This was not an easy decision for us to make. The past year, in Georgia, at North Point, as the Lighting & Scenic Director, has been incredibly rewarding. We've enjoyed many good times here as well as being apart of a really great ministry here in the ATL. The things we have learned in ministry at North Point we will take with us for the rest of our lives.

It feels like yesterday that we made the HUGE Parker Family announcement that we were leaving New Covenant and moving to Georgia. (That was only one year ago.) So I could work at an amazing church. Alongside an excellent production team.

However… Jillian and I have decided that living closer to our friends and family is far more important to our three boys and us right now. So, we have decided to head back to Fresno.

Let me just say that we LOVE North Point Community Church! I have really enjoyed working here. The staff is an awesome group of people. I will miss working with them VERY much. Plus the children's program is top-notch here and my kids loved it! I really wish we could pick up North Point, and the staff, and place it in California.

We both have met a lot of great people here in Georgia. Many good friendships were made here as well. And we pray that we can continue to stay connected with them. That’s the great part about Facebook, twitter, and blogs!

This past year has had its up and downs. (Way more ups than downs.) And we’re not going to stay it was a bad decision to move here. (Because it wasn’t.) We have learned a lot about ourselves and our marriage is stronger for it! Our family bond is stronger than oak now, too! What we have learned the most is that having our family and friends close to us is really important to our well-being.

We will continue to pray for North Point Community Church and its ministry in the Atlanta area and its impact worldwide. We pray that God will continue to bless this church!

Jill and I are very excited about what is in store next and we are looking forward to the next chapter of the Parker Family Story!

We would appreciate your prayers in this new adventure…

family dinner.

Tonight, we went to BJ's Pizzeria & Brew House for dinner. The pizza and salads were good, but the highlight was the pizookie! We all left stuffed! Took these photos with my camera phone.

4mile walk.

My Pregnant wife has been on this walking kick lately. She can walk just for fun to nowhere and back. I need a purpose in order to be motivated to go on a walk. Like in past we've walked to a pizza place or an ice cream store. YEAH! This time I really needed the remote control for the TV my in-laws gave us. So...we went on a walk to go get it. I should have checked Google Earth before we left. Today, we walked four miles! My feet hurt!

Check out our path from Google Earth.

beer-can chicken.

"I always BBQ with beer... sometimes I use it on the food!"

I LOVE TO BBQ! - I LOVE TO GRILL!

Last Sunday night my "pops" (Kelly, my dad-in-law) and I tried something a little different on the Bar-Be-Que. Have you ever had Beer-can chicken? You place a half full beer can up the chickens... you know what. And stand it up on the can and its legs just like a tri-pod on the grill. It took about 1 hour are more to grill it up. Oh man, was it moist! Yummy too!! It was fun eating it right off the bones. I could have eaten the whole thing by myself out side before it hit the kitchen counter. Not much favor on these ones though. We did rub it with pappy's seasoning, but I want to try it again and kick it up a notch or two!

Check out this recipe on the barbecue Bible Blog HERE.

We also had some old fashion BBQ sauce on some legs, and wings.

my water.

This Morning I was in the kitchen making my boys some breakfast and these water bottles caught my eye. It was like a family picture. Where's a McKay one, a Mommy one, a daddy one, but no Bryce one, so I added his sippy little cup there. How cute!

So let me explain the whole names on the water bottles thing.

We drink a lot of bottled water at the Parker house. (Now I can drink the tap water just fine, but if we have bottled... I'd rather have that.) We also waste a lot of it too. So Jill had a great idea to put or names on the water bottles, so we know who's is who's. Especially with guest over. We mainly do this so you won't open a new one until you finish your old one. Get it? You can sometimes not remember where you put your water and if that one is yours or not.

You should try it at your home or work. You can make it fun too.
