Quote: Pat Hill

“When it’s all said and done, he’ll be the best kicker we’ve ever had,” Bulldogs coach Pat Hill said. “He’s going to be a great player for us. This game does not fall on him or any player. It was a team loss. There were so many missed opportunities on offense, defense and special teams.”

--Pat Hill on Kevin Goessling, Fresno State Bulldogs field goal kicker, that missed three kicks vs. Wisconsin in a 13-10 loss.

I read this on the yahoosports page last week while looking for the boxscore & recap of the #21Fresno State Bulldogs verse #10Wisconsin game. I thought it was pretty cool.

bath times

Baby Carson got his first bath times tonight. (His belly button, cord thing came out a day or two ago.) He is just like his brothers, in that he enjoys his bath time very much. Only a few tears from him at the first. Then he was just chillin' in tub!

Baby update 3

Baby Carson is Home!

Both Jill and Carson were able to come home together on Tuesday afternoon. Jill is continuing to feel better and better each day. She is, of course, still sore and in some pain from the C-Section. But she is very strong and doing great.

Carson is eating, pooin', peein', and sleepin' really good! He's filling up his diapers too. The small amount of fluid, and the few air bubbles, in his lungs are all gone. He is breathing just fine. His jaundice is still a little bit of a issue. The good thing is that he doesn't have to be in the 'photo therapy' beds anymore. He has a Doctor's appointment on Wednesday to meet his pediatrician.

McKay and Bryce are very excited that their baby brother is home with them now. All they want to do is hold him or try to play with him all the time. McKay is very interested in helping out as much as possible. He's always asking, "Mommy-Daddy, What is Baby Carson is doing?" And Bryce says, "Baby. Baby! Nice. Nice."

Thank You to everyone who has called or e-mailed us this past week. Your love and support is very much appreciated by Jill and I both. Please continue to pray that Carson will continue to improve. Also that Jill will have a speedy recovery. God is Good!

My Little Peanut, Baby Update 2

**guest blog post from my wife**

Carson has been doing very well and has moved from the NICU to the Special Care Nursery. I was there when the doctor did rounds this morning and she said that Carson, or Peanut, (that it what we have been calling him), is doing great!!! His spots of air and water in his lungs have gotten smaller and will resolve on their own. He is still struggling with jaundice. He has been eating very well, and the doctors have let me start breastfeeding him. The doctor told me that he would have to be monitored one more night and that she would see him first thing in the morning and see if he could spend the day with me in my room, I was so excited!!!

He makes the same little noises that McKay and Bryce did when they were full and comfortable. McKay got to see him for the first time tonight, he said that Carson was so cute and calls him "Baby Carson." Bryce is to young to see him in the nursery. We just lift him up to see Carson though the window. Bryce yells, "Baby!" whenever he see him.

Thanks for all your prayers and support! Please continue to pray that Carson continues to get better everyday and that he gets to come home with us on Tuesday!

baby update

"It always looks worst than it really is."

Carson just has a few things going on with his breathing right now. They said he was 'grunting' every so often. So they put him in the Transition Nursery for 6 hours after his birth, so he could be monitored. His breathing did get much better, but not great.

So at 3:00am they put him in the Special Care Nursery. In here he got a IV, and many more of those leads to monitor him even more. Also had some x-rays of his lungs taken. They saw some fluid and a few air bubbles in there. Over the last 12 hours in Special Care Nursery he has gotten a lot better. The fluid in his lungs has gone down, as well as the air bubbles too.

His bilirubin (jaundice) count is a little high though. So that's why they have him under the "Lights" with these cool shades on. He has been poo-pooin' and pee-peein' just fine from his IV food. He just hasn't had a full meal yet of formula or breast milk. Jill gets to try and feed him this evening. Hopefully he eats well. This will help with the jaundice too.

my third son

CARSON RANDALL PARKER
August 29th at 2:59pm
8lbs 9oz
20" 1/2" long

Carson is the smallest of our three boys in birth weigh and length. It's fitting since he is the baby brother. The hospital staff were all saying, "WOW! This kids is huge!" Jill and I were thinking he looked tiny. Since McKay was 9.0lbs and Bryce was 9.6oz at birth.

my first set design at npcc.

Alright! Here it is. My first set-design for a series at North Point.

Five Things that God Uses To Grow Your Faith.

I'll make sure to let you know in a later post, how we made it, how we came up with it, and how much time it took to make it. Stay tuned!

green room.

Green rooms are cool! Everyone knows that! And Everyone wants to hang out in them too!

This is the Green room for North Point Community Church. Some of you have asked me about this "Green Room" I have been twittering about a lot lately. So here it is. And it's Wonderful! Don't you think?

Currently it is the break room during the week as well. On Sundays, several meetings for the NP Production Team take place in here. Also two meals are severed for them and there families. I have been here for a total of five Sundays so far now and we haven't had the same meal served twice to us yet. The meals are good baby! NPCC doesn't mess around. They take care of their staff and their volunteers.

McKay's first day of preschool

I can't believe it! Time goes by so fast!

McKay started pre-school this week at North Point's WeekDay program. This is an awesome program for kids. There are a total of ten kids in his classroom. He gets to sing songs, have craft time, story time, eat lunch, and play outside, with kids his own age. So cool! I'm jealous!

We let him pick out his backpack. And of course he went with the Lightning McQueen one. Plus he got the matching lunchbox too. Nice!

pretty lights.

I'm still rockin' the West auditorium!

In case you didn't know...The West is the "over-flow" room at North Point. (This room gets packed with people too.) There is live worship in each auditorium, but the message is live in the East and projected live on a HUGE Screen for the West.

I'm doing my best not to let the West be treated like second fiddle. I understand the natural feeling is that it's not as cool, but attitude is everything. We just have to rock it baby!

Last Sunday, I was able to work with one of our newer lighting volunteers. I programmed the lights on Thursday. And on Sunday morning, I shared with Jon what I did. He did an excellent job running my cues for the service. He made me look really good. I just sit in the booth for both services and was support for him. I only stepped in when he asked for help. During the rehearsal, the west producer asked if we could add a little something to a song. I then showed Jon how to do this on the console. And it turned out great. (Got some mad props for that one too in the meeting.) But most importantly it was great to be able to get to know Jon better. It's great to have him on our production team. Looking forward to teaching him and the other lighting guys and gals more and more.

cookout?

Why is it called "Cookout" or "Grillout" here in the south? I guess it's because, you are Cooking outside? In California, it's just called "Bar-B-Que time" or "Grillin' somethin' up!"

This past Sunday, I was B-B-Qin' up some grub and the next door neighbor peaked up over the fence and asked me, "What are y'all Cookin' out tonight?" I laughed and explained to her I wasn't cookin' out. I was Grillin' it up tonight!

Also.... We couldn't find a Tri-Tip cut of meat at any grocery store around. All the butchers looked at me funny when I asked. Until one afternoon we were at Costco. I checked out the meats and started to yell, "Jilly! Jilly! Look! Tri-Tips!" I was pretty excited to say the least.

Now if only we could get Foster Farms Chickens too!

new desk.

Jill got us a new desk for the office room downstairs. We needed it to put the home computer on. It got real old to be on the floor or sitting in a kids chair to use the computer. She got it at Target. Isn't Target the best store ever?!?!

McKay and Bryce love to help daddy out with projects. McKay did a great job helping me with the new kitchen table last week. They are BIG little helpers. With the whole family helping out to put this desk together, it only took us 47 Seconds to assemble. Really! See for yourself. Check it out. We are Fast!
