smashin' stuff.

Last Sunday at newcov we showed a video, that Pat and I made for the "Leadership Toolbox" series. It was a lot of to make. In this "funny" bumper video I took a sledge hammer to a watermelon and a Two Liter bottle full of coke. Yeah! It was Sweet! You can check it out at the newcovproduction blog.

All this excitement and fun reminded me of all the good times I had making funny videos for the youth groups at newcov. And one of them comes to mind for sure. It has a lot of smashing stuff in it. I made it with Marshall Pulliam back in the day. We actually watched it today together. We had all this stuff to throw away, so we decide to just throw it off the roof first. This started our "STUPID VIDEO" series. Check it out.

STUPID VIDEO - Throwing Stuff Off The Roof

mens softball league. wk1

I started playing on the NewCov Men's Softball Team again this season. It was nice to be back on the team again. I haven't played in years. I had played every year for a long time. I've also played in the co-ed leagues too. My wife played a few seasons as well with me. Church league softball can be a lot of fun. And it can be a great time of fellowship and outreach with others in the church and the community. But sometimes it can get a little to competitive. And that's what I love about it! Play to Win!

The men's league plays on Monday nights now at Bethany Church. We have a really good team this year. Our defense is pretty solid. And our sticks are good. Plenty of speed as well. (No speed from me. I just move my arms and legs really fast.) We should do well. I think we can win it this year. Make sure to come back here every Monday night for the duration of the season to see how we did. Or better yet, come to see how I did! (I know... There's no I in TEAM. But there is a ME.) I hope to have some pictures and maybe even some video too in weeks to come! So here's week one.

WEEK ONE. Game at 7:05pm.

NewCov Crushed Trinity Church 15-0

They were short on guys. Only played 7 guys in the field.

Bob pitched a great game. Got a three hitter to his name. Runners only reached two base once.

Our defense played great.

Scott Borman had a "SportCenter TopTen" diving catch out in Right Field.

I played third base the whole game. Had one put out. No errors!

Hitting was a little slow at first. But we got it going in time.

At the plate, I went 1-4. In-field single to third. Fly-out to Left. Line Drive out to Short. Foul-Tip K.

I scored one run.

sneak peak.

This afternoon, Pat talked me into making a "funny" bumper video with him for the new sermon series at newcov named Leadership Toolbox. It starts tomorrow morning. The video will be on the newcovproduction blog soon. He's editing the video as I type this blog post right now! Yeah!

Here's a picture of the video shoot! What did we do? Anyone have a guess? Anyone?

bryce first hair cut.

My youngest son, Bryce, got his first hair cut on Last Monday. He is only 15 months old. His older brother, McKay, enjoyed his first hair cut a lot more than Bryce did. Bryce cried pretty much the whole time while he was in the taxi seat. His hair really wasn't that long. It was just all different lengths. It looks pretty good.

friday night debate.

It was like old times for me last Friday night. New Covenant hosted a debate at Fresno State and I was in charge of all the "tech" side of things. I rented pretty much all the gear from Live Light. It was nice to be back in my old gig element for a short while. I even wore my old Live Light shirt for effect. I wish, my buddy, Mark, from LL, could have helped out. I sure could have used his help. I was running around all over the place.

The load-in started at noon. We had to first put down a trap on the gym floor. Then the stage got into place. Follow by lighting, sound and video. He had a few issues here and there. But overall the load-in went pretty smoothly. We were ready for show in plenty of time. We brought in our own church video equipment to film a two camera shoot of the event. It really need a four camera shoot. But I was pleased with the outcome of the video anyways.

The event was a huge great success. Tons of people showed up. (1400 total inside!) And there was plenty of people outside listening as well. (250!) We plan on doing this event yearly. Looking forward to next year all ready. Look for the Full length video online soon at the debate website.

fast facts - colors: blue & pink.

Here's a little - Fast Facts - On the Colors blue & pink!

Blue - is an appetite suppressant. Weight loss plans suggest putting your food on a blue plate. Or even better than that, put a blue light in your refrigerator and watch your munchies disappear. Or here's another tip: Dye your food blue! Blue food is a rare occurrence in nature.

P
ink
- has a emotional calming effect. Pink is used to calm violent prisoners in jails cells. Some jails use pink in their Drunk tanks. Prisoners did respond and calmed down, as hoped, initially. Major goof: If they hung around too long, they became even more violent. Why? The reasons are so very very clear. Also....Back in the early 90's Colleges would paint the visiting teams locker rooms pink.

Google is cool. It's amazing what you can find on the internet when your bored.

ants!

WOW! These ants are huge! They look so real too!

These art pieces caught my eye, in the Atlanta airport, while waiting at the baggage claim for our luggage. I would have loved to see more of them, all over the place and into everything. Then it would have looked just like my house before the call to the bug sprayer man.

Die... you... evil ants... you!

hanging out.

I love watching any sporting event at Chad & Leige house. They not only have HDTV on a big plasma screen. They have two of them! Yes. Two. During the football season this comes in real handy with NFL Sunday Ticket. You can have the Oakland Raiders on one and any other game on the other. Love it!

The family and I went over to hang out and watch the "big games" on Monday night. March Madness baby! We had the final four games on one TV and kid shows on the other for the boys. Sweet!

The highlight of the night was playing with Miles. Miles is their yellow lab puppy dog. He is so cute. A very well behaved puppy. This was the first time the boys got to play with a bigger dog. They weren't even scared of him. It was a lot of fun.

4mile walk.

My Pregnant wife has been on this walking kick lately. She can walk just for fun to nowhere and back. I need a purpose in order to be motivated to go on a walk. Like in past we've walked to a pizza place or an ice cream store. YEAH! This time I really needed the remote control for the TV my in-laws gave us. So...we went on a walk to go get it. I should have checked Google Earth before we left. Today, we walked four miles! My feet hurt!

Check out our path from Google Earth.

fast facts.

We went to dinner at Applebee's last week or two ago. And this 'did you know' was on the kids menu. I thought it was pretty interesting facts. So I am sharing it with you all.

(rss: embedded photo)

FAST FACTS: A single Clydesdale eats as much as 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay, and drinks 30 gallons of water per day.

This must be why they say, "I need to go make pee-pee like a horse!"

And why do they say, "I'm so hungry... I could eat a horse?" Shouldn't it be, "I'm so hungry... I could eat LIKE (or AS MUCH AS) a horse?"?

mexi food.

This afternoon I was invited to go eat Lunch with the children ministry staff here at newcov/adventureland. Plus it was a bonus that wife was there too. Since she works in the Christian Education department as well. It was a lot of fun. And pretty good food. Look! I had my camera on me! Snap a pic or two of the grub.

Jillian and I shared:
Chips and Salsa.
The Chicken & Steak Fajitas with flour tortillas.

I know... I've been blogging about food a lot lately, but remember were pregnant! So hungry right now!
