amazing stadium.

WOW! The new Arizona Cardinals stadium in pheonix is amazing! Last night I watched a show, on The Discovery Channel, called Extreme Engineering, it was about the construction of this new stadium due to open this coming NFL season. I was blown away. After the watching the show I had to find out more about this stadium. So I checked out the Cardinals website. Again.... WOW! This, by far, will be the coolest stadium ever built. (Well... maybe the coolest so far.) All of the detail and planning that went into this state-of-the-art stadium is amazing. This proves that if you get the right people together, working on the same project, you will get something great.

Check out some of these "totally awesome" features of the new
Sportsman's Park.

The exterior walls were engineered to replicate a rattle snake curled up or a golden barrel cactus.

A retractable roof that is 240 feet wide by 360 feet long and fully exposes the playing field.

Two huge LED screens. One of them measures 96 feet by 27 feet and the other measures 40 feet by 22.5 feet.

The field is on a "tray" that rolls in and out of the stadium.

The seat capacity is 63,000 with field tray in and 73,000 with the field tray out.

The four colors of the Cardinals were divided into percentages - red (60%), black (20%), yellow (13%), and white (7%) – which are proportionally integrated throughout the interior of the building.

usa fails to advance.

This morning we watched the USA soccer team get beat (again) in the 2006 World Cup. I don't ever watch soccer during the year, but I have always enjoyed watching the world cup tourney every four years. The USA did great in the last world cup. They made it to the quarterfinals losing to germany 1-0. I, like many others, had high hopes for this years team. We were ranked #9 in the world. But we just couldn't get it done. The officals were pretty bad, making really bad calls, but the US team just wasn't that good this year.

(photo from gettyimages)

On a side note: We only scored two goals in three games. (One of them was from the other team.) And Ronaldo from Brazil scored two goals by himself againist Japan today.

Well...we do have four years to train for the next tourney. GO RED, WHITE, and BLUE!!! Win the cup!

virtual seats.

Check this out!

It's a 3-D view of the McAfee Coliseum in Oakland, CA. (Raiders!) This is great, because it gives you a view, from your seats, before you purchase your tickets for the big game. What a great tool!

totally awesome.

After I posted my last blog entry. (virtual seats. I changed the time of post so you would read the that one before this one. Got it?) I continued to research the whole Virtual Tours idea.

I did know that reality companys do something like this to show homes on the internet so families can shop around without having to drive all over the city.

Virtual tour of some random homes.

But I got to thinking that wouldn't it be cool to have this on your church's website? People could view the church's sunday school rooms, the santuary, the chapel, and offices before they stepped a foot onto campus. So I did a google search on virtual tour churchs and found that there are several churches already doing this. This is totally awesome! What a Great tool.

tmc boxing.

Last night was "Mellee on the Mountian" at Table Mountain Casino. This was a pretty kick back gig for us. We just refocused some lights and called it good. Looked really good I thought. (I still need a better camera to take these kind of pictures with.)

mobile google.

Did you know?
You can search the google web search engine from your mobile phone text messaging system. J
ust text your search question to (GOOGL) 46645.

This could be cool for like movie times at a local theathre or like finding out the weather in a city your traveling to. Try it! It's pretty cool. Plus it's cheaper than a 411 call.

redneck humor.

Tonight my wife and I watched the blue collar comedy tour: one for the road. It was so hilarious! We laughed so hard.... I think some pee might have came out!

(photo from googleimages)

The first one from their blue collar comedy tour is still the best. But this last one is pretty good too. All of these guys are real funny comedians, but I think Bill might be my favorite. They all have their own bits that are so funny. The best part, as always, is then they all sit out on the stage and tell jokes.

Well... I guess you have to be a redneck to enjoy this kind of humor.
And I are one.

some music.

Recently I purchased a CD. (I know... weird.) I saw the CD in a Best Buy and just had to get it. I knew my wife would enjoy it, plus I really wanted it too. Remember the band, Sublime? This album "droppped" in 1996. Their music style is in a category of their own. It kind of like reggae, folk, and punk rock all mixed together. I listened to them in high school all the time. I can just see me and my friends blasting it in my mom's mini-van. (My wheels in high school.) It's funny how music can recall so many memories. I know that there is a lot of cussing and bad stuff in their lyrics, but I really enjoy this CD. It's what they call a guilty pleasure I guess.
