vegas baby.

I'm in VEGAS! This is my first time in the sin city. So many interesting sites to see. I have already walked up and down the strip early this morning. My feet are killing me. I'm staying at the Treasure Island Hotel. It's pretty cool. I'm looking forward to seeing the pirate show tonight. I really would like to see a show later this week. Like Cirques du soleil or blue man group. But I'm here on business though. I've got a livelight gig for Pelco at the ISCwest tradeshow in the Sands Expo Center. I'll be here until next saturday night.

I jumped on this little airplane at 630am and got here at 745am. My wife calls these planes, "puddle jumpers." It was so loud and a really tight fit to walk and sit down. The funny thing was that my seat number was 11D. You see the plane only has two seats to one side and one seat to the other side. There is no D, just A, B, and C. Luckly the airplane wasn't full so I sit in 10A. Cause of it was full then I would've had to sit on the toilet seat.

sweet madness.

Again, I love MARCH MADNESS! It's one of my favorite times of the year. And this years college tourney has been crazy man. There is always going to be upsets, cinderella stories, and buzzer beaters. But wow, this year has been sweet. I mean, I didn't even have George Mason passing their first round game and they're in the final four. Plus there isn't any number one seeds in the final four. My bracket picks are all jacked up. I went for a lot of set-ups and several cinderella stories in to the sweet sixteen. I would be first in all my leagues or last. And I'm last in quite a few of them. My single only pick remaining is UCLA and I had them losing to Villianova in the championship game by 11 points. So I guess I'm gonna jump on the band wagon now and join the cinderella story people. Go George Mason Patriots! Win the Dance!

last week.

I now have some pictures of the last gig I was on last week. I didn't take these shots. I still haven't gotten the pictures I took on that dumb disposable camera I used. I have gone to three diferent places and all of them had broken machines. I'm really paiding for not remembering my digital camera. Never again!

This was the Sony party at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, CA.

(I just hunged the lights this time, no running the show.)
So Anyways.....here are some.

(photos taken by KS)

After I finally get the pictures I took, I will post a few on the COMBOTS. They are those fighting robots inside a cage thing. It was really sweet.

silver & black.

Okay.... I really wanted Duante Culpepper to be the next QB for the silver and black, but I guess Aaron Brooks will do alright. He can throw and run good still. Plus I hear that Randy Moss likes Brooks. So its all good in the neighborhood. RAIDERS!!!! RAIDERS!!!!

Raiders sign QB Brooks

home again.

So.... I'm back from San Jose, CA. I was working with Live Light at the Sony PlayStation party at the Game Developers Conference 2006. It really was a sweet GIG. I had a great time and learned a lot.

The only thing is that I forgot my Digital Camera. Fetch! So I bought one of those Kodax point and shot disposable camera thingys. Not sure if the pictures will turn out right. I'm so bitter! Well.... anyways....I'll make sure to get the pictures developed and scan them into my computer so I can share a couple of them with you guys. I guess I could just get them onto a CD....or whatever. It was so weird to not have the preview screen while taking the shots. Plus the whole holding down the flash button was weird. And It really stinks that I have to go to the store and get them printed up.
This is ssssssoooooooo lame. How did we do it before?!?!?!

on the road.

Hey - I'll be out on the road again for the next four days with Live Light Inc. We'll be in San Jose, CA. We are setting up the lights for a huge PlayStation 2 (SONY) party for the Game Developers Conference 2006. It should be really cool! I will make sure to post about the gig later in the week.

march madness.

Tomorrow starts one of the best times of the year for me:
MARCH MADNESS!

I mean, really, you can watch College Basketball during the day, at work, and everybody is cool with it! Well.... maybe not everybody, but a lot of people get into it each year. I always have my freinds and I do a bracket sheet to see how well we pick-em each tourney. Not to brag, but I'm normally pretty good at getting a lot correct. So I decided to join some friendly web site competition bracket games this go around. One of the web sites is from a good costumer, for Live Light Inc., at ESPN Radio 1430. I listen to there sports broadcast everyday on the radio on my way home from work. Hope I win one of the contests this year. I'll let you know how well I do. (If I win or come close to winning either one.)

Check out ESPN Radio 1430.

my quote for the day.

"I wouldn't ever set out to hurt anyone deliberately unless it was, you know, important - like a league game or something."

This is totally how I'm feeling today!
It would be funny if he was married to a women named Anita.

that is wack.

Tonight I checked out my site meter stats stuff. I noticed that someone was checking out my blog for like 53 minutes in a row. Cool! So then I clicked on "who's on your site now" and it was me. That is wack! So then I checked out the site meters of the blogs I was reading tonight and it showed me reading their blogs for like 35 minutes each. That is wack! The only thing I can think of is that maybe the clock starts for my blog site meter at the time I check my blog and clock starts for their site meter then I click on a blogger link from my blog. And then..... the clock continues for those and starts a new clock after each other click on a new blog is made and so on. Is that right? Anyways....

THAT IS WACK!

double date night.

Last night was a night among adults. My wife and I went to dinner and a movie with some friends. We went to the Cheese Cake Factory for dinner, Starbucks for a time filler, and "Failure To Launch" for the feature film. It was so much fun to chill with our favorite couple to hang out with.

Our friends, Davin & Kim Aalto (left) and Jillian and I (right) at starbucks.

Just to let you know....
The Movie "Failure to Launch" is an excellence movie for an date night.
I thought it was funny and cute.
Plus it wasn't so much of a chick flick.
I give it TWO THUMBS UP!

oak-town baby.

JUST WIN BABY!
IT'S NOT SHOW FRIENDS, IT'S SHOW BUSSINESS!

The Oakland Raiders released QB Kerry Collins today. I believe this was a good move by Art Shell and the Oakland Raiders staff to move forward. So.... this leaves them with a open spot at QB. I feel that they should shop the free agency market and reunite Duante Cullpepper with Randy Moss. That would be sweet. It's on like Donkey Kong next year!

Read about Kerry Collins release at ESPN.com

final jeopardy.

Jeopardy & Wheel Of Fortune are games shows I watch pretty much every weeknight. My wife and I are normally eating dinner, doing dishes, playing with our son or giving him a bath during these shows. (We have a routine going here.) Plus he loves to clap along with the contestants. Tonight I got the final Jeopardy question correct! APPLAUSE PLEASE!

Final Jeopardy Category:
SHAKESPEARE

Answer:
Oddly enough, this 3-word phrase is the only Latin phrase spoken in the play "Julius Caesar."

Question:
What is....... "ET TU, BRUTE?" ("EVEN YOU, BRUTUS?")

Who would have thought that high school English would payoff?!?!?!?

oscars.

Alright. I finally found some photos of the 2006 Academy Awards. I been wanting to blog about the Oscars for awhile now, but I really wanted some pics to accompany this post. Hope it was worth the wait.

Just some of the things, I THOUGHT WERE SWEET, from the Academy Awards this year:

(1) If you didn't see it. The funniest thing was actor Ben Stiller presenting the award for achievement in visual effects. He dressed in this green uni-tar. Acting as if he was being "green screened" when he wasn't. He first came out not wearing the head piece, moving around a lot, and talking about his "floating" head. And soon it would be the first time ever an award was to be presented by itself, just a floating envelope.

(2) I really enjoyed the Crash song thing. I haven't seen the movie yet. And I have not heard of the sing either. I didn't even know what was going on. But I thought it was tight. There was a car on fire, smoke, and people moving around in slow-mo to the music.

Wow. I was into it. I gotta do these. Both of them!

reality show addict.

Okay. I was watching some late night TV this evening and while I was flipping though the channels I stopped at the spike tv network. There was a show on called Pros Vs Joes. If you haven't seen or heard of it, it's retired professional athletes competing against average joes. The joes were shooting hoops, hitting some golf balls, playing some one-on-one football and wrestling against these pros of their respected sports. It was kind of neat to watch this athletes in action again.

This was the first time I had ever seen this. At first I was really into it. I thought it was cool. Plus the whole time I was thinking and saying out loud to myself, "I could beat these joes and I would be a lot more competitive against these pros than them". I know I'm not a professional, but I do consider myself somewhat of a athlete (or former one in high school). But after a while I began to think this was just another reality show for me to get sucked into. Why do "famous" people do these shows? Is it cause they know we'll watch them? Or do they need the money & lime light all the time? A lot of the time it's the same celebrities doing these type of shows. Whatever it is I am the sucker.

Hello my name is randy and I'm a reality show addict.

mckay's special day.

Today was my son's specail day!

He was dedicated to the Lord at NewCov, during second service, by Pastor Scott Borman.

A lot of our family was there to witness it. And after the service we went to breakfast together. (We discovered he loves biscuits and gravy.) After McKay and I had a long nap this afternoon, we all had a BBQ at nana & papa's house.

Today was really special.

so yummy.

Today my wife and I went to the Home & Garden Show at the Fresno Fair Fairgrounds.
And..... we got some Cinnamon Rolls!

The main reason why we attend the Big Fresno Fair in October & The Home Show in March each year is to get our fix of Cinnamon Rolls and Milk.
SO YUMMY!!

i gots wonderlic smarts.

I have got to say that the NFL is my favorite sport to watch and keep up on. I check out NFL.com and yahoosports, with fantasty football, all the time. Plus their football coverage is amazing. The season is over and the only thing going down is the college players, that are turning pro, are doing some training combines. One thing I learned today was the (WPT) WONDERLIC personnel test. This is way cool. All the athletes take this test, as part of their combines, so scouts can "see their smarts". It's not really a IQ test, but a think smarts test I believe. It's a series of 50 questions in twelve minutes. This test has been around for a while now. The NFL has been using it for years. Business people use it as a tool for hiring new empolyees as well. You know I never heard of it before until now. Have you heard of it before?

Read an article at espn.com.
Also.... take the sample test I took at espn.com - don't cheat!

I got 13/15 on the sample test. What score did you get?

he shoots, he scores.

I was going to blog about a autistic high school basketball player, but I really don't have to now. I won't even bother. Why? Cause I was beaten to the "post" by patamo.
You can check out the whole story at his blog.

dancing with the stars: update.

Alright... I was wrong! Jerry Rice didn't get the boot on "Dancing with the Stars" since my last blog post about the show. He stayed on the show and went to the finals. He finished in second place out of ten dancing coouples. That's pretty sweet. He just got better and better as the show went on. He did say that if he won the trophy, it would go right on the shelf next to all his football awards. That means he ranks this conpetition up with his superbowl mvp award??!?!? Well....okay, I guess If you give everything you have into a competition, blood, sweat, and tears, then it really doen't matter what it is. It can be a superbowl game or a dance off. It's all in your mind set or additude. Jerry worked hard and wanted it bad. But he came up a little short. Jerry Rice continues to show us a example of a man who has a committement to excellence and a willingless to reach for perfection in all things he does.

Keep groving Jerry!

I know what your thinking.....and NO....that's not Snoop Dogg!
